Lauren Spigelmyer

Hey, that's me, Lauren - a teacher who stopped reacting to the daily fires of my classroom and started preventing issues instead so I could enjoy teaching. At the beginning of each school year, when I ended up with the most challenging class (inevitably happened EVERY year), I accepted that this was the hand I was dealt and focused on getting through the next nine months. I asked colleagues what was working for them, I went to conferences, scoured Pinterest and requested help from the administration…but nothing was actually solving the problem.

I was dreading going into work, giving myself a pep talk every morning so I could walk into the building. I was stressed out, overwhelmed and frustrated. I began studying neurobiology and experimenting with those techniques, which got instant results. Other teachers noticed, asked what I was doing, and started implementing the same techniques and strategies in their own classrooms. Word spread like wildfire. Today, I coach teachers just like you to get the results you want for your own classroom so you can enjoy teaching, too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I am not swimming in financial freedom. Can I really afford this course?

A:  The cost of this course is about the same as an educational conference. Those are certainly always informative, but investing in this program will give you the ability to implement small changes in your classroom that get you big results, FAST. While this is a small investment to consider seriously and discuss with your administration, I suspect continuing to struggle throughout another school year is what you really can’t afford. Plus, you get expert support from yours truly!

Q: There’s so much on my plate right now with being in the educational field. Do I have the time to take this course?

A: It takes about 8-10 hours to fully complete the modules in this course. You can watch the 5- to 7-minute video lessons and complete the action steps anytime and on your own schedule. By making small shifts in your communication, you should expect to gain hours in energy so you can finally do things for yourself like take that workout class or spend quality time with your friends and family!

Q: I need PD hours. Will I get a certificate for this course?

A: Sure - happy to send proof of hard work your way, but the certificate you’re really going to want is the trauma-invested program completion certificate. You’ll get that if you complete all 5 courses in The Behavior Hub’s online school (available December 2020). Can you imagine the possibilities with that type of background and knowledge? So many schools looking for trauma and behavior certified educators. #endlesspossibilities

Q: Our school is going virtual. Is this content still relevant?

A: Knowing that many schools are going virtual, I designed this course and content to be used across settings. So, you may not be in a classroom full of kiddos, but changing your communication or sharing tips and tricks with students and families is going to change everyone’s productivity and ability to focus.

The real benefit comes with the expert and peer support within the course, in the private FB group, and during the coaching call. This added support will help guide the modifications needed for each setting.  The sooner you join this fun, the sooner you can feel the benefits of a brain-based teaching and learning!
